We would like to recognize two excellent educators who have been awarded the "Those Who Excel" award by the Illinois State Board of Education, specifically as in the team division "CA Henning Elementary School PE Department". We have two exceptional teachers, Mrs. Megan Hall and Mrs. Marissa Giuffre who both excel.   Both of these staff members are passionate about health and fitness and show active collaboration within the professional learning community.  These educators both have advanced degrees, Mrs. Hall has a specialist degree from SIUE and Mrs. Giuffre holds Masters degrees from Illinois State University and McKendree University.   They are spokespeople in the building for a healthy lifestyle.  They live and work a positive, healthy lifestyle and speak this positive message to students, parents, and staff members through their daily activities and messages as well as via social media.  Our PE teachers hold a yearly events at Henning to promote this lifestyle such as the “Bring your Parent To PE” in which all students in the PE classes at Henning and our annual field day, as well as rallying the school building with fundraisers to raise money for causes that were important to the school building and the community such as Triad Strong, Cardinal Glennon, and currently DASA, which is a local charity in St. Peters. Both of these Triad teachers also have a passion for what they teach, excitement in their classes, and know their students. This team, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Giuffre both excel and will be recognized by ISBE in May. Congratulations!

A Message from Triad High School's Principal, Kelli Barbour

Beth Luttrell is a worthy recipient of the “Those Who Excel Award” for so many reasons. To begin, Beth is the only administrator in our district who has been an assistant principal at every building level. With over thirty years of educational experience, she has been an elementary school assistant principal, a middle school assistant principal, and for the past four years, a high school assistant principal. Whatever the needs are for the district at any level, she is always willing to go the extra mile wherever she is needed by actively implementing the goals and objectives of the school district. In doing so, she has had a positive impact on education and advocacy for children of all ages, K-12. She has also worked collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents at all grade levels to improve educational programs and student achievement beyond measure. She works to devise solutions to challenges that benefit all of our students. At the high school level, she dedicates endless hours to working on all of our special education programs to make certain each student at every learning level is successful and that all of their accommodations are being met. She will do whatever it takes to make that happen and is willing to take risks to improve student learning. She is an active listener who anticipates emerging problems and acts effectively to resolve them with everyone involved. She has excellent communication skills that she utilizes to get to know not only every student with an IEP and 504 plan but also takes the time to get to know their families. So many Triad families sing her praises regarding the impact she has had on their student’s education. She also involves the community in the lives of those students and the school programs that benefit them. We have many students who go out into the community in cooperative education programs that she is a part of. She also utilizes donations from our local Knights of Columbus to financially support our special education programs and activities. To further her involvement with all community stakeholders, she can always be found at various extracurricular activities throughout the school year because she genuinely cares about our students. Not only does she ensure the school climate is positive and reflects high staff and student morale for everyone, but she also works very closely with our Special Education Department to ensure all of their needs are met so they can work effectively to support their students. This includes all of the Special Education teachers and the many paraprofessionals that she oversees as well. She is creative in bringing about positive change for everyone at Triad High School. The amount of students and staff she has impacted over the years is immeasurable. Beth is an approachable and authentic leader who is kind, compassionate, informative, and professional. She is beyond worthy of any recognition that is available to her and we are beyond blessed to have her as an assistant principal at Triad High School.
