Triad High School has many extra-curricular opportunities for all students who have a wide variety of interests. Below are listed short descriptions for each club.

Ag Club*
Ag Club provides an opportunity for students to explore current trends, education, and careers in agriculture.

ALPHA Club*
ALPHA members consist of students that display organized, goal-orientated, positive academic and behavior advancement. ALPHA members take the responsibility to help the school and community develop and implement methods and strategies that contribute to the prevention and intervention of destructive decisions throughout the school and community. Members of ALPHA also develop and implement lessons for the middle school health curriculum which are aligned with teacher instruction.

Art Club*
Extra studio time for students to develop their artistic talent beyond the regular art curriculum.

Book Club
Students read and discuss books! This club meets once a month during lunch/homeroom hours. Come to the library for more information!

Broadcasting Club
Students learn the skills necessary to broadcast various Triad sports competitions throughout the school year. These skills involve filming, speaking, technical assistance, and broadcasting games throughout the year.

Choral Department
Triad High School Choral Program provides students the opportunity to experience, explore and develop the art of choral singing as it pertains to rehearsal and performance techniques. Please refer to the class syllabus for more information and to the choral website at

Chess Club
Students meet after school to work on strategy and competitive play in the world of chess.

Christian Club
Students engage in bible study, as well as Christian news discussions.

Color Guard
Color Guard is an auxiliary unit of the Triad Knights Marching Band. Students interested in participating in Color Guard may audition in April.

Creative Writing*
The Creative Writing Club is a creative outlet for students to express their writing skills, expose them to new writing genres, and provide community interrelation.

Envirothon*
Envirothon is a winning competitive team that focuses on environmental topics and issues. They prepare with the help of engaging guest experts, captivating hands-on-activities, and scintillating field trips to compete in the Illinois Envirothon; do service projects; and have fun!

Fall Play*
Students join together to produce a drama, which is presented in mid November. Auditions are held near the beginning of the school year for both cast and crew.

Students will learn about French culture through games, music, food, etc. as well as be provided opportunities to speak the French language.

Link Crew
Triad Link Crew is an organization that pairs upperclassman with incoming freshman for orientation and mentoring activities throughout the year. Its purpose is to provide a smooth transition from the Middle School to the High School.

Math Club*
Math Club encourages students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers through preparation for mathematics competitions.

Model UN
Model United Nations involves debate, public speaking, and research into current world events. Participation in the McKendree University Invitational Model UN and the Triad Middle School Invitational are required events.

Musical*
The musical is produced in the spring and allows students the opportunity to use their musical and theatrical talents on the stage.

NHS (National Honor Society)
NHS is a service organization that sponsors a number of events to support the school, community charities, and larger charity organizations. Students are invited to join their junior year based on a 3.5 GPA. Candidates are then evaluated, by faculty, on the basis of leadership, character, and service.

The Robotics Club will give students the chance to work not only with robots, but with each other to create a group work environment.

Scholar Bowl*
Like Jeopardy, students will be testing their knowledge in many categories, competing against other schools and having fun in the process. Anyone who likes trivia will enjoy Scholar Bowl. Categories range from school subjects to music, art and entertainment.

The purpose of science club is to provide an outlet for students to explore their natural world outside of the classroom through investigation, field trips, and community experiences with other students.

Students will learn about Spanish culture through games, music, food, etc. as well as be provided opportunities to speak the Spanish language.

Spanish Honor Society
Although Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica or SHH) is primarily academic, we exist primarily to make a difference to people and organizations in our community. Students are invited to join based upon GPA after the 3rd honors level of Spanish.

Spirit Club*
Spirit Club is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting our after-school activities and athletics. They are excited about being a Triad Knight and show their school spirit at these events!

Student Council
Student Council serves to improve student life and make a positive influence throughout the school. Student Council plans school events such as Homecoming, Christmas activities, Teacher Appreciation Week, school elections, Honors Night, etc.

Student Service Club*
The Student Service Club is designed to provide students the ability to serve the community. The club is designed to create hands-on activities for the student body to raise money for charities that may be local or national in nature. The club participants may also volunteer at various organizations such as animal shelters or food kitchens.

TLS Mentors
The purpose of our group is to create social activities for students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers both inside of and outside of school. If students are interested in becoming special education teachers, related service providers, or pursue any field in the area of people with disabilities, this is a GREAT place to start!
